What's your mission ?
ATCcenter is recruiting for our Subtitling/Captioning Department. This would be an on-call, remote position for the time being.
We are extremely interested in the following languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, Chinese.
We are continuously seeking Subtitlers and Captioners. Now would be a good time to acclimate yourself to our policies, procedures and formats and equipment used.
ATCcenter believes there is an ever-growing need to provide quality ”broadcast-quality captions.”
We want Subtitler and Caption Transcriptionists that take the same pride in their work with 100% accuracy.
We are seeking:
Captioners for English to English (a plus if you have a foreign language expertise)
Experienced Subtitlers/Captioners need only apply.
You will be requested for a resume and samples of your previous work prior to being administered the test evaluation.
Please let us know your second language when applying.
You will be required to create, format and edit captions for videos to be distributed on a variety of platforms. The captions and subtitles must represent perfect English grammar, and you will need to be able to detect and correct errors in spelling, punctuation, syntax, and individual clients’ captioning style.
The ideal candidate is detail oriented and is able to shift priorities as required on a daily basis to accommodate the changing needs of our clients. The candidate thrives in a remote, team-focused environment to meet needs of the client. Strong writing and editing skills preferred.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE SKILLS
Background in English
Subtitling and editing experience preferred
Fast and accurate typing skills — minimum 60 wpm
Familiarity with using search engines to research people, places, and unfamiliar terms
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Comfortable in adapting to new software
ATC provides access to one of the following Subtitle Editor, Caption Maker, Swift, or something comparable
Able to work well remotely, completing projects accurately and to the deadline with minimal supervision
Proactive, flexible and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously
Able to work independently and as a team player
Able to learn to use specific, subtitle-centric computer programs
Meticulous attention to detail and exceptional listening skills
Able to comprehend and communicate complex technical topics and specialized information
The Rate of Pay: Captioning English to English will be $35.00 USD per 30 mins of recorded video or audio transcribed. Average Captioner earns $2500 per month and up working at least 20 hours per week.
At this time we are only hiring candidates who are residents of the U.S. or Canada, but will consider candidates outside the United States and Canada who are proficient in a second language for future projects.
Fluent English is required (Another language is a plus)
Transcription experience or related training and/or certification
